The Question “Governed by God’s calling grace” where does it all start?
From 2 Timothy 1.
2Ti 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
2Ti 1:8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me His prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God,
2Ti 1:9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity, ( NASB )
The apostle Paul trusted his life to Christ. No one else could have delivered Paul through the insecurities and trials of his life and subsequent death. After the road to Damascus Paul set upon a journey which in the end would lead him to death for his cause. Paul knew that this would be the case. Yet he ran the race gladly and thoroughly under the constant guidance of the Holy Spirit that linked him to our Triune God and this is true for all of Jesus apostles except two Judas Iscariot and John.
If you are of the Spirit then it is certain that we all have our own (secret) journey in this mortal life with God. Setting aside the primary question which is “is God real?” What happens after this point, the individual accepting that God is real has enormous implications on his/her life, even more so in this day and age. In this day and age, we are post Darwin*, the evolution theorist, and society in general wants to measure everything by prodding and poking it. The problem with spiritual Christianity is the process to the solution only has a finite result and the path from start to finish is mostly a personal experience.
Herein lies the biggest problem with those of the flesh, they have to deny God because they do not experience God. Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” You have to be of the Spirit to see the things of the Spirit. Jesus in John 3 is revealing to us a truth which courses through Christianity to this very day. The spiritual rebirth of each unique individual is sanctioned by God and requires complete and total submission of the person (in his Spirit) to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Then also 2Co 4:4 “in whose case the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
Our belief systems after the primary acceptance, revelation and interaction with God are then shaped and molded by the extent that we allow the spiritual world (calling heaven to earth) into our lives. To a greater and lesser extent our entry and experience of God’s world is determined by our willingness to subject ourselves to his Word firstly and fore-mostly. Subsequently our interaction with the Holy Spirit in prayer. constant prayer, will determine the boundaries of our experience. In everything thereafter it is the Word that will resonate or reject our understanding of the guidance given by the Spirit.
The world for a Christian can either be governed and controlled by the rigidity of a specific religion, such as Catholicism or Methodist. The alternative is to release yourself from the rigidity imposed by all these “isms” and freely explore the boundless realm offered to you by the Scriptures. Pray into your life an unfathomable hunger for the Word.
Pray into your life the revelation of Jesus through your new companion the Holy Spirit and submit your all to Him.
For no prophecy made by man will ecco and resonate without the support of the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:21
Then cry out to all “Jesus is Lord” he is my Lord and my God. (1 Co 12:3b “no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.” )
1Pe 5:10 After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.
2Co 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
(* “You need more faith to believe in Darwin!”, the problem with evolution and Darwin’ism is that it is all theory, there is absolutely no scientific proof to support the evolution theory. It is only a theory, and a bad one at that because all science disproves it.)
