Day 4 ~ Purpose Driven Life ~ Revisited ~ Every act now strikes a chord that will vibrate in eternity!

Day 4 ~ Made to Last Forever.

Every act now (in this world) strikes a chord that will vibrate in eternity!

Our skin bodies have a sell by date; our spirit bodies are eternal. The same God who fashioned the skin bodies in our mother’s womb engineered our spirit bodies to be our permanent dwelling. 2 Corinthians 5:1 (Mirror Bible)

There is this beautiful story I once heard. A man had been introduced to the word of God and he had to make a decision as to what to do. That night he was still worried about having to give up drink and all sorts of other things that would eventually not suit the lifestyle of a godly man.(*)

He went to bed still wrestling  with this problem. He dreamed that he was standing next to a wide field and needed to get to the other side. Crossing the centre of this field was a well-built stone wall. On the right of the dividing wall stood Jesus and many of the saints.  This part of the field belonged to God.

On the left of the dividing wall stood the devil and his cohorts. The area on the left was occupied by the evil one.

The man decided that he did not want to choose sides and would not walk through either of the fields. So he got on top of the wall and started walking across. As he was walking the devil was urging him on and telling him he is doing a good job. Jesus on the other hand, was asking him to get off the wall and walk through the field on his side.

When the man was about halfway across the devil and his cohorts were cheering and very happy with his progress. The man got very upset and shouted at the devil that he was not choosing sides because he was in neither of the fields but on top of the wall.

The devil then retorted, “The top of the wall is my territory.”

The story ends with the man waking up and committing his life to Christ.

You see in this world there is absolutely no neutral territory.  You are either going to be with Christ or not?

A good friend of mine, Delroy, says that the scariest verse in the Bible for him is ; Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me,….” Matthew 7 : 21-23 (BSB)

(*) – Jesus said to them “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Matthew 11: 28-30 (BSB)
