Day 15 ~ The Purpose Driven Life ~ Formed for God’s Family.
When you answer the trumpet call by Christ you enter into the family of the triune God. As Paul puts it in Ephesians 4:4 “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, and one baptism; one God and Father of all who is overall and through all and in all.”
Our human ego just naturally calls for acclamations of works. There is no value in this.
Jesus said in Matthew 6:1-4 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honoured by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
You have received already the biggest gift father could possibly bestow on you. Your righteousness through Christ is complete. How can any reward ever equal that?
Walk worthy of your calling!
Your identity is in Christ and we all bear one surname DoC (Disciple of Christ)
Ephesians 4:1-7
“No matter where you find yourself or who you are do not diminish the awareness of your “in-Christ-ness!”. Your complete existence is defined and confined in Him. Let the essence and detail of your life flow from the consciousness of your true identity and were as defined in Him.
The fabric of your existence and makeup are now meekness and tenderness which enables you to show compassion in seemingly impossible situations, it draws the breath of love and laughter from your inner being, always carrying the shared burden with one another in an environment where love rules supreme.
Be ever vigilant to guard your oneness in spirit. We are prisoners of peace. We confirm the fact that there is only one body; the lifeblood of our family is the Spirit.
Our expectation identifies us in Christ. We have chosen a singular path with no alternatives. We bear the same surname. “DoC“
We are employed by the same Boss; we all share the same faith, and our baptism says the same thing.
There is only one God. He is and remains the creator and ultimate father of the universe. We are because He is. He is present in all; he is above all, through all and in all. In Him, we live and move and have our very being.
The gift of Christ gives dimension to grace and defines our individual life values.” (Para Mirror Bible.)
The gift of God, wrapped up in the achievement of Christ, disarms every idea of reward!
God’s gift to us was Christ. What reward would you need beyond Christ.
Your luvacta witnesses the prompting infusion of the Spirit.
