Day 1 ~ The Purpose Driven Life revisited. “It is only in God we discover our identity!”

Day 1 ~ If you want to discover your purpose in life, why not ask God, he created you.

Colossians 1 : 16 – 20.

16 For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him.

17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and firstborn from among the dead, so that in all things He may have preeminence. 19 For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, 20 and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through the blood of His cross. (BSB)

The first day is all about who knows you best. We must remember that He knew us even before we were born. He created you.

You were created in the image of the almighty God (Gen 1:27).

In this day today I am going to go about meeting people who were created in the image of God.

From Rick’s pen;

It is not about you.

You have been and are Glorified (present tense) ;

Romans 8:29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
Rom 8:30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. (NASB)

Rick’s closing statement on this first day is that we should always remember that we must live like Christ for the Glorification of the Father.

  1. Wow – to be conformed to the image of His Son. Not just in his suffering, but also in His authority over sin sickness and the grave. Praised God. O to walk in the image of Christ today

  2. This does mean of course being like him in our life style, our walk, our conversation. It means i must alaways ask myself What would Jesus do in my place? What a responsability, ,but it come with the privilege.

  3. The thing is to be more like Christ we must also endure pain. But our saviour ensured his pain was greater. Glory be to him who stands with us through the storm reminding us of the joy unending
